What are temporary authorizations?

Temporary authorizations let you override the calculated access status of contractor resources — such as workers, vehicles, or equipment — when you need to act outside the standard compliance evaluation.

This is Twind's dedicated mechanism for managing access control exceptions. It is particularly useful in urgent or critical situations, such as emergency interventions or immediate restrictions.

Who can manage temporary authorizations?

A new client-level role has been introduced: Temporary Authorization Manager. This role can create, edit, and delete temporary authorizations. Assignment is done by a Client Administrator.

All other client roles can view authorizations in read-only mode: Client Administrator, Contract Manager, Reception, and Client Reader.

Where to find temporary authorizations

Go to Access → Temporary Authorizations. No additional setup or activation is required.

Delete a temporary authorization

Authorizations can be deleted at any time. Upon deletion:

  • The change takes effect immediately.

  • The standard access control state is restored.

  • The authorization is hidden from the default list but remains available via filters and for audit purposes.

  • The authorizer receives an email notification with full details.

Access control integration

When a temporary authorization is active on a resource, Twind displays the "Temporary authorization" label next to the access status — on the web platform (client and contractor views) and on the mobile app.

Select Temporary Authorization Option

Accesses generated during the authorization period include a reference to it and appear in exports.

Register entry and exit

From the advanced settings, go to Access control to log the entry and exit of a resource. You can select the resource type, register Entry or Exit, set a specific time, add a Note, and save.
