Until now, creating a contract in Twind meant filling in all the required fields in one go — including the activity, which isn't always decided by the person creating the contract. Soon, you'll be able to save a contract as a draft with just the general details and complete it once the activity and site information is ready.
Two save actions in the form
The contract creation form will offer two options:
Save draft: stores the contract with just the basic details (name, contractor company, dates, contract manager). The activity and sites are left pending.
Publish: the current behavior, unchanged — full validation of all required fields.
A draft is inert: it doesn't generate requirements, doesn't notify the contractor and doesn't affect compliance. For the contractor, the contract only starts to exist once it's published. A draft can be deleted while it's still in that status; once published, it can't go back to draft.
New role: contract drafter
A new client role lets users create and edit draft contracts without being able to publish them. Publishing is still reserved for Client Admin and Contract Manager. The current permission model doesn't change for any existing user.
Drafts in the list and full traceability
Draft contracts appear in the list with their own status and can be filtered. The contract history records who created the draft and who published it, with a timestamp at each step.
