The unattended mode of the Twind app — used on tablets and totems at client facility entrances — has been completely overhauled. Redesigned home screen, automatic entry/exit detection, PIN for settings, Android OS lockdown, escalated offline warnings and language switching without leaving the flow. Unattended mode ready to run 24/7 without a guard.
The new home: identify yourself, enter.
The unattended mode home screen has been redesigned so contractor workers can register their access immediately. The identification field and the Register access button are the main action — always visible. QR Access and Visitor Access appear as secondary options, only if enabled in the terminal settings.
Entry or exit. Automatic only.
When the terminal is connected, the direction is resolved automatically based on the worker's current presence — no questions asked, straight to the result. If presence is undetermined, the terminal shows the manual selector. Without connection, the manual selector always appears.
Green or red. With sound.
Access results now have colour and audio for immediate recognition:
✅ Allowed — green screen with worker photo and name, access allowed tone. Closes automatically in 3 seconds.
❌ Denied — red screen with the list of requirements blocking access, denied tone. Closes in 3 seconds.
🔍 Not found — grey screen, message distinct from denied. Closes in 3 seconds.
⚠️ Connection error — grey screen with warning icon and manual retry button. Does not close automatically.
The PIN protects settings.
Accessing terminal settings no longer requires OAuth re-authentication — now it's a 4-digit PIN. Five failed attempts lock the PIN for 1 minute. Direct recovery on the terminal with email and password, no external portal needed.
Unattended mode locked so no one can modify it.
On Android, while unattended mode is active, the OS Back, Home and Recents buttons are locked — workers cannot exit the app or access device settings. Only affects unattended mode.
Language, adapted to each worker.
A globe icon on the home screen allows changing the language without entering settings. The change is ephemeral: applies only to the current access cycle and reverts to the device language when done.
Offline for too long, the app tells you.
A banner in local mode informs you of days without sync:
Days 0–3 — amber banner: "Remember to sync when you have a connection."
Days 4–15 — red banner, non-dismissible: "Please sync before [date] to avoid the system being locked."
Day 15+ — full-screen block: no new accesses can be registered. Records already in queue are preserved and synced upon reconnection.
