Products are now a full resource type in Twind

Register Products alongside employees, vehicles, and equipment. Assign them to contracts and manage their document requirements before they are used at your sites.

Release date: June 25, 2026

Written by: Twind Team

Until now, it was not possible to register a product in Twind or request documentation associated with that product. From now on, Products become a full resource type, alongside employees, vehicles, and equipment.

This means you can register products, classify them by client, assign them to contracts, and manage the document requirements they must meet before being used at a site.

For example, you can request and review documentation such as technical data sheets, safety data sheets, certificates of conformity, or any other requirement defined by your organization.

A practical example

Imagine a contractor accesses your site to carry out industrial cleaning tasks and needs to use a specific chemical product. With this feature, that chemical product can be registered in Twind as a Product resource type.

This way, you can request and manage the necessary documentation associated with that product — such as the safety data sheet, technical data sheet, or other requirements defined by your organization — before it is used at your site.

If you are a client user: set up a requirement for products

Before requesting documentation, you need to create a requirement whose subject is Product.

  1. Go to "Settings""Requirements".

  2. Click "Add requirement".

  3. Fill in the requirement details: name, evidence type, criticality, and expiry date, if applicable.

  4. In the "Subject" field, select "Product".

  5. Save your changes.

From that point on, the requirement can be applied to products

If you are a contractor: create a product

If you are a contractor, you will need to register the product requested by your clients:

  1. Go to "Resources""Products".

  2. Click "Add Product".

  3. Fill in the product details:

    • Name.

    • Manufacturer.

    • Serial number.

    • Product type.

  4. If you work with multiple clients, classify the product by client by selecting the corresponding type for each one.

  5. Save your changes.

Once created, the product will be available as a resource within Twind.

If you are a contractor: assign the product to a contract

For a product to be part of a contract's document workflow, you need to assign it to the corresponding contract.

  1. Go to "Contracts".

  2. Select the corresponding contract.

  3. Enter the resource assignment option.

  4. Open the "Products" tab.

  5. Select the products you want to link to the contract.

  6. Save your changes.

Once assigned, the product can have document requirements associated with it within that contract.

Upload product documentation

Pending requirements associated with products will appear in the requirement upload section, just like those for employees, vehicles, equipment, or company.

If you are a contractor and your client requests documentation for a Product resource type, you must submit it through Twind.

  1. Go to "Requirements""Upload requirements".

  2. Filter by product, if needed.

  3. Open the pending requirement.

  4. Upload the requested document.

  5. Add the issue date and comments, if applicable.

  6. Click "Save".

The document will be linked to the product and the corresponding contract for review.

ℹ️ Keep in mind: for pending requirements to appear for a product, all of the following conditions must be met:

  • The product must be created in Twind.

  • The product must be assigned to a contract.

  • At least one requirement must be configured with Subject = Product.

If the product is not assigned to a contract or no requirement is configured for products, no pending requirements will appear for that product.
