How do I subcontract another company in Twind as a contractor?

If you're a contractor and need another company to work with you on a contract, you can create a subcontract in Twind. We'll walk you through how to check if you have permission and how to do it step by step.

Subcontracting in Twind: check the permission and create the subcontract

In Twind, as a contractor you can subcontract another company to work under your contract. To do so, your contract must have subcontracting enabled. If it does, you can create the subcontract directly from the platform.

Below we explain how to check whether your contract allows subcontracting and how to assign the subcontracted company.

Check if your contract allows subcontracting

To check whether you have permission to subcontract:

  1. Go to the side menu and click on ‘Contracts’.

    Acceder a la Sección Contratos

  2. Find the relevant contract and click on "View contract" to open its details.

    View Contract Details
  3. In the contract details, look for the "Allow subcontracting?" field.

    Review Subcontracting Permissions

If the detail ‘Allow subcontracting?’ indicates YES, you have permission to subcontract; if it indicates NO, you must contact your Contract Manager.

Create the subcontract and assign the company

Once you've confirmed that your contract allows subcontracting, follow these steps:

  1. From the contract detail, click on "Create subcontract" to add a subcontracted company.

    Initiate Subcontract Creation

  2. Click on "Search" and type the name of the company you want to subcontract.

    Search For Subcontractor

  3. Select the company from the results.

    Select Subcontractor Company

  4. Click on "Save" to finish. The subcontract will be registered under the main contract.

    Save Subcontract Details

ℹ️ Please note: if the company is already registered in Twind, it will appear directly in the search results, and you just need to select it to add it as a subcontract — no extra steps needed. If it doesn't appear, it means it isn't registered on the platform yet; in that case, contact your Contract Manager so they can send the invitation and you can add it.

What happens after the subcontract has been created?

Once the subcontract has been created, the subcontractor will be granted access to the contract on Twind and can start managing their documentation and workers. As the main contractor, you will be able to view the status of their documentation from within the contract.

ℹ️ Please note: if you need to edit or delete a subcontract that has already been created, see the article ‘How do I edit a contract or subcontract on Twind?’.
