Your subcontracting management hub
If you are involved in a contract as a contractor company, Twind lets you create and manage subcontracts directly from the "Contracts" section. This guide explains how to access the subcontracting tree, create a new subcontract step by step, and invite new companies from the same flow.
How to access subcontract management
You have two ways to reach the subcontracting tree:
From the contract side panel:
In the side menu, click "Contracts".
Click on the contract name. A side panel will open with a summary, access to subcontracting, resources, and history.
In the panel, click "Manage subcontracts".
ℹ️ Please note: From this same panel you can also access "Assign resources" if you need to manage contract resources without creating a subcontract.
From the contracts table:
In the side menu, click "Contracts".
Find the contract in which you act as a contractor company.
In the last column of the row, click "..." and select "Manage subcontracts".
The subcontracting tree
When you enter subcontract management, you will see the full contract hierarchy.
Use the search bar to find a subcontract by name or ID.
Click on any node in the tree to see the sites and activities associated with that level.
From here you can create, edit, or delete subcontracts.
Creating a subcontract
In the tree, select the contract from which you want to create the subcontract. On the right you will see the sites and activities linked to that level.
Click "Create subcontract".
In the "General information" section, select the contractor company in the "Contractor" field and enter the "Start date" and "End date".
If the company is not yet in Twind, you can invite it directly from the same form: enter their details and send the invitation. The company will receive an email to access the platform.
Click "+ Add site" to add more sites.
In the "Assign activities" section, add the work sites and select the activities that correspond to each one.
Click "Save" to create the subcontract.
ℹ️ Please note: If the lead client's contract requires approval for subcontracts, the new subcontract will appear in the tree with the status "Pending approval" until the client confirms it.
Assigning resources to the subcontract
Once the subcontract is created, you can assign the workers, vehicles, equipment, and products that will operate under that level:
Select resources individually or use multi-selection to edit them as a group.
Search and filter in the table to quickly find the ones you need.
If the resource does not yet exist, you can add a new one from the same screen.
To see the full process, see the article: How to assign resources to a contract in Twind?
Editing or deleting a subcontract
To edit an existing subcontract, select it in the tree and access the edit option. You can modify the contractor, dates, sites, and activities.
⚠️ Important: If you delete a site from a subcontract, all resources assigned to that site will be unassigned. Review the affected resources before confirming the deletion.
