What this guide covers
With Multi-company, your holding company centralises the CAE configuration — activities, risks, requirements, and resource types — and decides what each subsidiary receives. Subsidiaries get it in read-only mode.
This guide explains how to configure the sharing scope if you're the holding company admin, and how to view received items if you're a subsidiary admin.
ℹ️ Please note: Multi-company is a paid feature. If you don't see the sharing controls described in this guide, contact the Twind team to request access.
For the holding company
Go to "Parameters".
Open the catalogue you want to configure: "Activities", "Risks", "Requirements", or the relevant resource type ("Employees", "Vehicles", "Equipment").
Create a new item or edit an existing one. In the form, you'll find the "Sharing scope" field with three options:
"Not shared": the item exists only in the holding company and is not sent to any subsidiary.
"All companies": the item is shared in read-only mode with all subsidiaries in the holding, including any added in the future.
"Specific companies": you choose which subsidiaries to share it with.
If you select "Specific companies", the "Select companies" panel will open. Search by name or tax ID, tick the subsidiaries you want to include, and click "Apply".
Save the form. Twind will automatically propagate the item to each subsidiary included in the scope.
⚠️ Important: Deleting a shared item removes it from all subsidiaries in the holding. If it is in use in any of them, the deletion will be blocked until it is released in that company.
Considerations when sharing requirements
If the catalogue you are sharing is "Requirements", there are two additional things to keep in mind.
Rule dependencies
When a requirement includes rules that reference an activity type, risk, or resource, you can only share it with subsidiaries that also have that dependency configured:
The rule selector will only show entities already shared with all companies in the scope. System resource types always meet this condition automatically.
When saving, if there is any non-compliance, Twind will display a notice specifying exactly which item does not meet the condition and which company is affected. The system will never silently expand the scope.
ℹ️ Please note: If you later change the scope of an item, Twind will automatically update the subsidiaries' configuration: it will add the item to companies entering the new scope and remove it from those leaving it. If the item is in use in a subsidiary, you won't be able to remove that company from the scope until it stops being used there.
⚠️ Important: "Products" (the holding's commercial plans) are never automatically assigned to subsidiaries, even if the rest of the configuration is synchronised. Products are managed manually, company by company. When a subsidiary is created or synced, the configuration is reconciled — but its products remain unchanged.
How to switch between companies in Twind
With Multi-company active, you can move between the holding company and its subsidiaries without logging out.
In the left sidebar, you'll see the name of the company you're currently working in. Click on it to open the company selector.
The "My workspace" panel will expand, showing all the companies in your group. If you have access to many companies, type the name in the search bar to filter the results. Click on the company you want to switch to.
ℹ️ Please note: If you don't see a company in the list, it means you haven't been granted access to it yet. Contact your holding administrator to be added to that company.
For subsidiary companies
Go to the relevant catalogue in your company. Items that the holding company has shared with you will appear labelled "Managed by the holding".
These items are read-only: you won't be able to edit or delete them. They are part of your corporate group's centralised configuration.
If you need to check the history of a shared item, open its actions menu and select "Change log".
