ℹ️ Keep in mind: this guide is for client companies (companies that contract services). If you are a subcontractor and have been invited to Twind, see the getting started guide for contractors.
Step 1: Create your first site (workplace)
A site in Twind represents a physical workplace where your subcontractors will provide services (a factory, an office, a construction site, a warehouse, etc.).
Go to "Settings" → "Sites" → "+ Add site" and enter the name, address, and details of the site.
Step 2: Define the activities and risks for the site
Activities describe what type of work is carried out at your site (maintenance, cleaning, construction, logistics, etc.). The risks associated with each activity determine what specific documentation will be requested from subcontractors.
Without activities and risks, Twind will not know what documents to request. This is an essential step.
Step 3: Configure which documents to request from each type of subcontractor
Once activities and risks are defined, configure the documentary requirements: what documents you want to require from subcontractor companies, their workers, and their equipment.
Go to "Settings" → "Requirements" → "+ Add requirement" and define the requirement name, who it applies to (company or worker), the evidence type, the criticality, and the conditions for it to apply.
Step 4: Create your first contract
The contract is the link between your company (client) and the subcontractor. Within the contract, the site and activity are assigned, and the requirements you have configured are applied automatically.
Go to "Contracts" and create a new contract indicating the subcontractor, the site, the validity dates, and the activity.
Step 5: Invite your first subcontractor
Register the subcontractor that will provide services at your site. Twind will send them an email invitation so they can access the platform and start uploading their documentation.
Step 6: Monitor compliance
Once your subcontractor starts uploading documentation, you will be able to see the compliance percentage for each company from "Contracts". When it reaches 100% on critical requirements, their workers will be authorised to access your site.

ℹ️ Keep in mind: if your company has contracted Twind's document validation service, our team will review the documents uploaded by your subcontractors (standard timeline: 24–48 working hours). If not, your team will need to validate them manually from "Requirements" → "Pending review".
What's next?
With your first site up and running, you can expand:
Add more sites if you operate at multiple locations.
Invite more subcontractors.
Configure access control if you want to manage who can physically enter the site.
Activate expiry notifications so your subcontractors renew their documentation on time.
